Our property in Flag Pond, TN is located just two miles from the North Carolina border and is quietly nestled just a half-mile off Interstate 26.  These fully-fenced 5.6 beautiful acres are of a rolling variety and include a wide range of topography throughout.  The hills on this property were once used for potato and tobacco farming in the early to mid 1900’s, and an abundance of arrowheads have been discovered on this property over the years. 

With the front of this parcel providing a steep overwatch, we believe this portion of the property would be the most ideal location for a homesite build.  From this particular spot (which is shown as the main cover photo on this page) you have an excellent view of the 4,173-ft elevation Sugarloaf Mountain, and there is an old logging road that trails inward towards the center of the property – which runs alongside a small creek bordering the property’s left-hand side.  About halfway up you will find a small, 40-ft diameter pond that would make a perfect swimming hole or water source for farm animals.  From here, the property opens up to a magical, four sprawling acres of pasture mountain land.

Trek your way to the very top of this property and you will find yourself looking directly into the slopes of Tilson Mountain, which is an elevation of 3,258 feet.  The sights, sounds and smells from this very location can only be described as something out of a storybook, and cannot be accurately described in words or photos.

For the topography footprint, we map the location using the mapper, and then place our checkpoints on both the property’s uppermost and lowermost areas of elevation.  While these two numbers don’t necessarily paint an accurate picture in terms of slope steepness or grade, they do give us a relatively accurate idea in terms of the main elevation differences throughout the property.  As you can see, the Flag Pond property elevates about 100 feet from front to rear.

Flag Pond Tn has a population of just over 900, which means the village is obviously very limited in terms of amenities, shopping and general creature comforts.    It is located about halfway between Mars Hill, NC and Erwin TN, so 20 minutes either direction on Interstate 26 will get you into town.
